Hello, I'm Bill Albrecht, general manager of Grand Welcome Texas Hill Country. My wife Lisa and I have called the Hill Country home for more than two decades, we raised our three children here. We’re not the only ones attracted to the area. It has become quite the destination spot, and deservedly so.
As General Manager I’m truly excited to help property owners share the beauty of our Texas Hill Country with their guests, giving them a wonderful, memorable experience while maximizing revenue for the owner.
We’ve got a lot to offer out here, the big skies, the barbecue, the Texas rivers, but top of list for me has got to be a good thunderstorm. Give me a beer on the deck of the Real Ale taproom while a juicy storm rolls in, and I’m a happy man. On a different day, you might find me paddle boarding on the Blanco River, or pass me as I bicycle down one of our beautiful country roads. It’s a big area, lots to offer, many rivers, wine, beer, spirits and plenty of good food.
I'm Mike McAuliffe, the local owner of Grand Welcome Texas Hill Country. I’ve lived in the area for over 30 years. I raised my two daughters here. I’ve worked in high-tech sales and management for more than three decades. That, coupled with eight years managing a successful vacation rental home positions me to bring a great deal of expertise to this venture.
Beyond the calling of work, music is my respite – either on the stage or in the audience, music has brought me a lot of joy throughout my life. Today my best gig is as Poppop, that’s what my grandkids call me. They usually demand that I break out my guitar so I can teach them to rock and I’m happy to oblige.
A typical day-off for Andrea and I might start with a cup of coffee while walking our Golden, Rudy, around our property. Pedernales Falls State Park is next on the agenda, for a hike or bike ride. When dinner calls, it’s always tough to decide – there are many great restaurants throughout the area. We enjoy the laid-back vibe and food of places like The Leaning Pear in Wimberley or Trattoria Lisina. If serious R&R is in the mix, you can’t beat Nice N Easy in Johnson City, Grawlix in Dripping Springs, or the Barber Shop on Mercer Street to hang out and talk shop with the locals.
We treat you like family, always going the extra mile to maximize your rental revenue, providing your guests with personalized service and maintaining your property as if it's our own.
